The stuff people ask us most before they book.

What actually is a ceramic coating?

It's a liquid we hand-apply that chemically bonds to your car's clear coat and hardens into a protective layer. It's not a wax sitting on top of the paint — it becomes part of the surface. That's what makes the car easier to wash, keeps water and dirt from sticking, and protects against UV, bird droppings, and road salt.

Why do you polish the paint before coating it?

Because a coating locks in whatever is underneath it. If we coat over swirls and scratches, those get sealed in for the life of the coating. The 1-step paint correction removes them first, so we're protecting the paint at its best — that's why it's built into every ceramic package instead of being an upsell at drop-off.

How long do you have my car?

Two days for a ceramic package. That covers the full detail, the correction, the coating application, and proper cure time before it goes back out. You'll get photo and text updates along the way so you always know where it's at.

Should I go with the 3-year or the 10-year?

It mostly comes down to how long you're keeping the car. If it's a lease or you tend to trade every few years, the 3-year makes sense. If it's a keeper or it's brand new, the 10-year is the better value over the life of the car. Tell us your situation and we'll give you a straight recommendation.

Is dealership ceramic coating the same thing?

Usually not. Most dealership "ceramic" is a spray-on sealant applied in under an hour with little or no paint prep, and it doesn't last anywhere near what's advertised. We're a System X certified installer — the product, the prep, and the process are all different, and it's backed by a real warranty.

What kind of cars do you work on?

Everything from daily drivers to weekend cars. Newer vehicles are the sweet spot for coating since you're protecting paint that's still in great shape, but we take on older well-kept cars too. If you're not sure your car is a fit, just ask.

Where are you located and who do you serve?

We're at 31 Woodlawn Ave in Ansonia, CT, and we serve the Naugatuck Valley — Shelton, Seymour, Orange, Derby, and the surrounding towns. Everything is by appointment so your car gets a dedicated spot in the shop.

About DetailHaus

Three Friends, One Standard.

DetailHaus started with three best friends and three different skill sets. Steve and Basel go back to The AutoSpa of Fairfield, where Steve ran the detailing and ceramic coating department and Basel came on as his detailer. Basel picked up the craft fast — within a couple of years he'd developed the meticulous, detail-obsessed standard the shop still runs on today.

In the summer of 2025, Steve and Basel started a mobile detailing business together on the side. That was the real beginning of DetailHaus. Not long after, they brought their friend Adam on board to run social media and YouTube and document the whole build — camera rolling from day one.

Our first shop was a single bay in Milford, CT, and we outgrew it in three months. That pushed us to Ansonia, where we built a dedicated studio for the Naugatuck Valley, with mobile detailing set to return next winter so we can service clients at home again.

We've grown into a team of five, but the standard hasn't moved: treat every vehicle like it's your own, and go the extra mile so the client walks away with the best experience, the best workmanship, and results they won't find anywhere else in the area.
