4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the site, understand how visitors use it, and measure the performance of our advertising.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They allow the site to recognize your device, remember your preferences, and collect information about how the site is used. We also use related technologies such as pixels, tags, and local storage, which work in a similar way.
Types of cookies and tracking we use
- Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the website and quote form to function properly, including security and load balancing. These cannot be turned off through our site.
- Functional cookies. Remember your preferences and information you've entered so you don't have to re-enter it, and support features such as our embedded quote form.
- Analytics cookies. Help us understand which pages are visited, how visitors move through the site, and where visitors come from, so we can improve the site. This data is reported to us in aggregate.
- Advertising and conversion tracking. We advertise on platforms including Facebook and Instagram (Meta). These platforms may place cookies or pixels that let us measure whether a visit or quote request came from an ad, and show relevant ads to people who have visited our site. We do not use these tools to identify you personally to advertisers.
Third parties that may set cookies
Some cookies are set by service providers we use to operate the site and our booking process, including our website host, our customer relationship and form platform, our analytics provider, and advertising platforms such as Meta. These providers process data under their own privacy policies.
Your choices
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. You can usually find these controls in your browser's privacy or security menu. Please note that disabling strictly necessary or functional cookies may prevent parts of our website — including the quote form — from working correctly.
You can also limit ad targeting through your device or platform settings, including the ad preference controls offered by Meta and by your mobile operating system. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal; because there is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, our site does not currently respond to them.
5. Data Security
We take the security of your information seriously and maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect it against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Our practices include:
- Encryption in transit. Our website is served over HTTPS/TLS, and information submitted through our quote form is encrypted while being transmitted.
- Encryption at rest. Customer records are stored in our customer relationship platform, which encrypts stored data.
- Access controls. Access to customer information is limited to the owners and staff who need it to perform their jobs. Accounts are individually assigned and are not shared.
- Authentication. Accounts on the systems that hold customer data are protected by strong passwords, and multi-factor authentication is enabled where the platform supports it.
- Vetted service providers. We use established third-party platforms for our website hosting, customer records, messaging, and payment processing, and we rely on their security programs in addition to our own controls.
- Payment data. Payment card information is handled by our payment processor. We do not store complete payment card numbers on our own systems.
- Access removal. When a team member leaves or changes roles, their access to systems containing customer information is revoked promptly.
- Data minimization. We collect only the information we need to quote, schedule, and perform your service, and to meet our legal and warranty obligations.
No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information using commercially reasonable measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any applicable authorities as required by Connecticut and federal law.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. Companies that perform services on our behalf — website hosting, customer relationship management, text and email messaging delivery, appointment scheduling, payment processing, and analytics. These providers may only use your information to perform services for us.
- Coating manufacturer. If your vehicle receives a ceramic coating with a manufacturer warranty, we may register your vehicle and coating with the manufacturer so the warranty is valid.
- Legal requirements. When we are required to do so by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.
- Business transfer. If DetailHaus is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
As stated above, SMS consent and phone numbers are never shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
7. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide services to you and for legitimate business purposes, including:
- Customer and service records: retained for the duration of our relationship and afterward as needed for warranty, tax, and accounting purposes.
- Coating warranty records: retained for the length of the applicable coating warranty.
- Quote requests that don't become jobs: retained for a reasonable period for follow-up, then removed on a periodic basis.
- Website analytics data: retained according to the retention settings of our analytics provider.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove identifying details.
8. Your Rights & Choices
You may, at any time:

9. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Third-Party Links
Our website and social media may link to third-party sites we don't control, including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Google. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our services, or the law. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
